Changing the Way You See Mannequins

When you think of a mannequin designer, the first thing that comes to mind probably isn’t a six-foot-tall stiletto to launch a new shoe department in a New York City flagship store or an eight-foot-tall Lombardi Trophy for the Philadelphia Eagles, but just as the world of retail has changed, so have we.

Fusion started in the world of visual merchandising in 1986, specializing in custom design of mannequins, props and accessories. The company quickly grew to be the world’s largest and most innovative producer of mannequins. We have designed dynamic mannequins for top retail brands. We have produced thousands of mannequins for global rollouts. We have utilized new technology to prototype designs in days rather than weeks. While mannequins are still vital in retail, we are exploring new solutions for our retail partners to create unique customer experiences in store.

Because Fusion utilizes both classically trained sculptors in combination with innovative 3D technology, we have been able to create to create one-of-a-kind designs that can be produced for multiple stores. This includes Utah Jazz center, Rudy Gobert. Known as much for his signature haircuts as for his seven-foot, nine-inch wingspan, we were tasked with capturing both the big dimensions and the small details in a life-size replica. Today, Rudy 2.0 lives at the Utah Jazz store within the team’s stadium, capturing the attention of fans every game day and resulting in thousands of social media fan selfies. Sometimes the best way to capture attention is the unexpected.

At Fusion, we believe in sitting on the same side of the table as our customers and simply asking, “What is your biggest visual retail challenge?” Sometimes, that is a larger-than-life gummy bear (yep, we’ve created that too), other times it is simple foot form to display the best new wool socks. We invite you to come visit us at Booth #56077-UL to see our dynamic designs and talk about how we can help with your visual merchandising needs.
